Nigeria: Troops rescue captives, kill terrorists in Yobe State


Nigerian Army said its troops of Defence Company, 27 Brigade on Operation LAFIYA DOLE deployed at Kamuya, Yobe State were able to rescue some people help captive by some suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Yobe State on Friday 8th September 2017.

According to a statement by Brigadier Sani Kukasheka Usman, Director Army Public Relations, the troops received report from some herdsmen at about 7.30am that some suspected Boko Haram terrorists have abducted 6 persons from their village and they in conjunction with local vigilante familiar with the area trailed the terrorists up to Mangari village which was about 20 kilometres away Kamuya, where they exchanged fire with them, neutralizing 2 of the terrorists and rescued the abducted persons.

“The troops also recovered 2 AK-47 rifles. The rescued persons have been reunited with their family,” the statement said.
