‘IPOB, Arewa, others should accommodate each other for a united, peaceful country’


A cleric, Rev. Maxwell Onyia, has advised Nigerians to unite and be tolerant of one another in order to build a peaceful country.

Onyi called on members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Arewa youths and other marginalized cum agitating organizations to cuddle one another with love for a peaceful nation.

Nigerians react to Shehu Garba's statement that IPOB members are terrorists while Fulani Herdsmen are criminals


Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, was a guest on Channels TV this morning where he said that IPOB members are terrorists while Fulani herdsmen that have been carrying out attacks in various parts of the country are a mere criminal gang. President Muhammadu Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu on Thursday said the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is a terrorist organization while Fulani herdsmen are just criminal gangs.
The Presidential aide said this on Channels television while speaking on the recent proscription of IPOB under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu.

Shehu noted that the pro-Biafra group had no regard for the constitution of Nigeria.

Responding to why Fulani herdsmen were not proscribed despite killing many Nigerians, Garba replied, “This is because there is a difference between a criminal gang and terrorist activities.

“Yes, the Fulani herdsmen are a criminal gang and are being dealt with in accordance to the laws of the country but IPOB like Boko Haram has a territory they have carved onto themselves as a sovereign state and have shown willingness to invade neighboring states.

“They have raised concerns in neighboring Kogi, Benue and also indicated interest in taking over Bayelsa and Rivers That is exactly what Boko Haram has done with the Flags and taxation systems. This certainly are not acceptable to the laws of the country.”

FG moves to block sources of IPOB funding


The Federal Government said, yesterday that it is aware of sources of funding of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and is taking steps to block them.
Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, disclosed this when he appeared on a live television programme, Good Morning Nigeria on Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, .

This came at a time members of IPOB stormed the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York to protest the military invasion of South-East states and what they called dehumanization of the people in the zone.

IPOB’s categorization as a terrorist group unconstitutional – Saraki


Senate President Bukola Saraki has kicked against the categorization of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB as a ‘terrorist organisation’ by the Nigerian military, saying that it was not only unconstitutional, that due process was not followed prior to the pronouncement of such a statement.

IPOB: Army releases more patrol troops


The Nigeria Army has increased military presence as a measure to prevent any form of reprisal attacks in Zaria, following reports of attacks on non-indigenes resident in parts of South East.

Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu planning to escape through Cameroonian borders – Arewa Youths


The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum (AYCF) has claimed that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, is planning to escape Nigeria through the Cameroonian borders.

AYCF said it had intelligence reports, that Kanu was on his way to the Cameroon borders, from where he could easily flee from the country.
