Buhari tellst his Ministers-designate things to do and not to do, says all foreign trips must be duty-related
President Buhari has reportedly listed his dos and don't to all the ministers-designate ahead of their inauguration this Wednesday November 11th. The dos and don'ts were listed to the ministers during the ministerial retreat which took place in Abuja last week Thursday and Friday.
While speaking at the retreat, Buhari charged the ministers to ensure that all of their foreign trips must be duty related. Among the dos and don't include;
- Foreign travels must be duty-related
- ministers must operate within lean resources
-no more flamboyance
- strict adherence to the rule of law -compliance to Civil Service Rules
-living above board
-cooperation with Permanent Secretaries
- no more rancour between ministers and ministers of State
- appointment of some aides should be from the civil service - drastic reduction of vehicles in convoys
-all decisions must lead to change.
A source at the presidency who spoke with the Nation said
“The ministers have been told to limit their foreign trips to only those that are duty-related, they must relate to their work. And all travels abroad must be approved by the President. No more travelling just for the sake of it. As you have heard on Friday, they are expected to reduce the vehicles in their convoys to a reasonable level to save cost. The ministers are to do things differently in view of the lean resources at their disposal. Flamboyance and extravagance by cabinet members are gone. The Ministers have been given copies of the Civil Service Rules and Regulations. The President wants compliance with the document. He also warned against conflict with Permanent Secretaries. On the relationship between ministers and ministers of state, some guidelines have also been provided with a caveat that the President will not tolerate any rift or rancour.”he said

Two women made history in Tokyo as the first same-sex couple in Japan to have their relationship recognized by a local government, CNN reports.
"I'm so happy," Higashi says. "When they gave us the certificate, I cried. Our friends cried."
Applicants must be at least 20 and fill out a notarized document promising to protect each other and live together with trust and love. The certificate has an official stamp. But businesses, hospitals, landlords, and other entities are not legally bound to acknowledge it.
Furthermore, this kind of certificate is only available for residents in two of Tokyo's 23 wards -- and nowhere else in Japan. Mostly symbolic, the certificate is supposed to encourage businesses to grant rights equivalent to marriage.
Japan, same-sex couples have difficulty finding housing, opening joint bank accounts, and can be barred from seeing their loved one in the hospital after an accident or illness.
Despite recognition and protection from some local governments, Japan still has no national laws protecting LGBT people from discrimination. Coming out can mean getting fired, evicted, or denied healthcare. And there's no legal recourse.

PRESIDENT BUHARI TO PRESIDE OVER SWEARING-IN OF MINISTERS, INAUGURAL SESSION OF NEW FEC ON WEDNESDAY
President Muhammadu Buhari will officially inaugurate a new Federal Executive Council on Wednesday, November 11, 2015.
Before the commencement of the inaugural session of the council, the ministers-designate will take their oaths of office in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa.
The swearing-in ceremony will begin promptly at 10:00 Hours and the ministers-designate are expected to be seated in the Council Chambers by 09:30 Hours at the latest.
Each minister-designate can only be accompanied to the swearing-in ceremony by a maximum of two guests.
Also, following the confirmation of their nominations by the Senate, President Buhari will tomorrow at the Presidential Villa, preside over the swearing-in of Prof. Mahmood Yakubu as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and five others as National Commissioners of INEC.
The swearing-in of Prof. Yakubu, Mrs. Amina Zakari, Mr. Solomon Adedeji Soyebi, Prof. Antonia Taiye Okoosi-Simbine, Dr. Muhammed Mustafa Lecky and Alhaji Baba Shettima Arfo is scheduled for 11:00 Hours in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa.

According to Benedicta, she was waiting to be checked into her room at 7:00am when three armed men robbed her of my belongings and travel documents at gun point, just at the reception right before the receptionist and the security men, who couldn't help.
The distraught Benedicta says she's traumatized and fear this experience may affect her performance at the grand finale. She says she doesn't know how to replace her stolen costumes, documents, shoes and accessories.
Golden Eaglets win FIFA u-17 World cup again to make history
Nigeria's Golden Eaglets have won the 2015 U17 World championship. They whooped Mali 2-0 at the finals which was played in Chile in the early hours of Monday morning. The Cup triumph means that the Nigerians have successfully defended the title they won two years ago in the UAE. Congrats to them.
Two quickfire second half goals from Victor Osimhen and Funsho Bamgboye ensured that Emmanuel Amuneke's men cruised to victory as Nigeria claimed their fifth world title at under-17 level.
It is the first time that the Nigerians are winning the title outside of the Asian continent. Their previous successes have been in China in 1985, Japan in 1993, Korea Republic in 2007 and UAE in 2013.

In a blog about the episode, Gabourey told the 'haters',Gabourey Sidibe responded to critics who fat shamed her after she appeared in a love scene during Wednesday's episode of Empire.

Plenty of fans also came to the actresses defense, with one writing: 'People are just mean. All I see is two people in love, do y'all really think big girls cannot get some action?'
Many of Gabourey's cast mates on Empire also praised her for the scene. Co-star Jussie Smollett, who plays Jamal Lyon on the show, called it 'beautiful' and praised Gabourey for 'owning herself' and when told about the negative comments, said the critics should just close their eyes and turn off their TVs if they have a problem.

Mom kills son before taking her own life in Arizona hospital
Nurses at Cardon Children’s Medical Center in Mesa found the woman and her 5-year-old child dead inside the child’s room while conducting a 2 a.m. bed check Saturday, Mesa police spokesman Steve Berry said.
“Every two hours they do a check,” Berry said. “They were seen alive and fine at midnight and then found at 2 a.m.”The mother had a fatal gunshot wound, Berry said. He could not describe how the child died.
Upon finding the pair, the nurses immediately called for trauma units as well as security. An off-duty police officer was already working at the hospital, according to authorities.
Investigators believe the mother killed the child and then herself. Nobody at the hospital recalls hearing any gunshots or suspicious activity, Berry said. The boy was in a private room.
Berry told KPHO-TV that the woman was 27-year-old Tammy Griffith, and the 5-year-old’s name was Helious.
Police have completed their investigation of the scene and the room has been turned back over to the hospital. No one else in the hospital was threatened or harmed.
According to Mesa Police Department Det. Steve Berry "Everything was kind of confined to that one room," he said.
According to police, the boy had been hospitalized for the past week. Berry declined to say why the boy was hospitalized, citing privacy rules.
Banner Health, which owns Cardon Children's Medical Center, said in a statement that each of their health care centers have a policy that prohibits weapons of any kind.
"The safety of our patients, associates and visitors is paramount to us and is our top priority," the statement said. "Our thoughts are with the family and their loss at this time."The mother currently had an open case with the Arizona Department of Child Safety but she was the boy’s legal guardian, Berry said.

Enyimba yesterday won its seventh Glo Premier League crown after playing a goalless draw with Warri Wolves in front of over 40,000 fans at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.
Enyimba needed just a point in their final home game against closest rivals Wolves and they did just enough to get the job done.
