‘IPOB, Arewa, others should accommodate each other for a united, peaceful country’


A cleric, Rev. Maxwell Onyia, has advised Nigerians to unite and be tolerant of one another in order to build a peaceful country.

Onyi called on members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Arewa youths and other marginalized cum agitating organizations to cuddle one another with love for a peaceful nation.

Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, was a guest on Channels TV this morning where he said that IPOB members are terrorists while Fulani herdsmen that have been carrying out attacks in various parts of the country are a mere criminal gang. President Muhammadu Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu on Thursday said the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is a terrorist organization while Fulani herdsmen are just criminal gangs.
The Presidential aide said this on Channels television while speaking on the recent proscription of IPOB under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu.

Shehu noted that the pro-Biafra group had no regard for the constitution of Nigeria.

Responding to why Fulani herdsmen were not proscribed despite killing many Nigerians, Garba replied, “This is because there is a difference between a criminal gang and terrorist activities.

“Yes, the Fulani herdsmen are a criminal gang and are being dealt with in accordance to the laws of the country but IPOB like Boko Haram has a territory they have carved onto themselves as a sovereign state and have shown willingness to invade neighboring states.

“They have raised concerns in neighboring Kogi, Benue and also indicated interest in taking over Bayelsa and Rivers That is exactly what Boko Haram has done with the Flags and taxation systems. This certainly are not acceptable to the laws of the country.”

FG moves to block sources of IPOB funding


The Federal Government said, yesterday that it is aware of sources of funding of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and is taking steps to block them.
Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, disclosed this when he appeared on a live television programme, Good Morning Nigeria on Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, .

This came at a time members of IPOB stormed the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York to protest the military invasion of South-East states and what they called dehumanization of the people in the zone.

IPOB’s categorization as a terrorist group unconstitutional – Saraki


Senate President Bukola Saraki has kicked against the categorization of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB as a ‘terrorist organisation’ by the Nigerian military, saying that it was not only unconstitutional, that due process was not followed prior to the pronouncement of such a statement.

IPOB: Army releases more patrol troops


The Nigeria Army has increased military presence as a measure to prevent any form of reprisal attacks in Zaria, following reports of attacks on non-indigenes resident in parts of South East.

The Assistant Director, Depot Nigerian Army/Nigerian Military School (MNS) Public Relations, Capt. Haruna Mohammed-Sani, gave the statement to newsmen.

The Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, has advised the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on how best to run the agitation for Biafra and succeed.

The Biafra National Guard, BNG, has declared that the Nigerian military can “go to hell” because it would defend people of the South East.

BNG made the declaration while faulting the decision of the Nigerian Military to declare the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, as a terrorist group.
Reacting to the declaration, BNG stated that it would not be blackmailed by the terrorist tag, stressing that Biafra will be restored.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, on Sunday accused “politically disgruntled treasury looters” out to sabotage the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government of sponsoring the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Mohammed said the disgruntled looters are using IPOB to sabotage the current government under the guise of fighting for the rights of the people of the South-east.

Terrorism Charge: Nnamdi Kanu Flees, Goes Into Hiding


The founder of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, and top leaders of his group have gone into hiding following Friday’s declaration by the Nigerian Army that IPOB and other Pro-Biafran groups were terrorist organizations.

Investigations by SUNDAY PUNCH on Saturday revealed that Kanu and his top lieutenants had ‘disappeared’ from his country home in Afaraukwu near Umuahia and other places he frequently visited.
His father, Eze Israel Kanu, is the traditional ruler of the town.

Operation Python Dance: Army withdraws from Abia


Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia has expressed gratitude to God for averting bloodbath in the state, following the withdrawal of troops deployed to Abia for a one-month military exercise code-named “Operation Python Dance.”

Some Nigerians have reacted to the decision of the Nigerian Army to declare the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu as terrorists.
In a Facebook post, some Nigerians faulted the action while others described the decision of the Army as a welcome development.

Gunmen and suicide bombers killed at least 84 people in southern Iraq in the deadliest attack by the Islamic State group since it lost second city Mosul, according to a new toll released on Friday.

The Diplomat, who recently visited Kanu at his country home in Afarau Ukwu in Umuahia, the Abia State capital warned that Buhari will be killed soon by “Biafran Army.”
